My Background

I’ve spent the last four years working in the technical world of diesel engine parts, supporting customers who rely on accuracy, clarity, and fast problem-solving. What started as a role rooted in technical knowledge gradually became something more: I found myself stepping into SME responsibilities, helping teammates understand processes, and eventually leading hands-on training for groups across different regions.

Working directly with learners taught me how to read a room, pivot quickly, and explain complex information in a way that feels doable instead of overwhelming. I realized I didn’t just enjoy helping people learn I also enjoyed building the learning. Creating clear, accurate training materials became something I loved, especially when I could take something complicated and turn it into something people actually understood.

In the summer of 2025, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the Cummins Instructional Design team. Shadowing their process gave me a closer look at how structured, thoughtful learning experiences come together. Since then, I’ve continued growing my skills, from creating my first end-to-end training to observing how experienced IDs plan, prototype, revise, and evaluate learning solutions.

Along the way, I’ve been digging into the foundations of the field. I’ve read Map It by Cathy Moore, and I’m familiar with ADDIE, Gagné’s Nine Events, and other core models that shape effective learning design. I’m still learning and expanding my knowledge, but each project gives me another chance to put those principles into real practice.

I value accuracy, learner enjoyment, and designing with ease in mind. My goal is always the same: help people understand what they need to do without any unnecessary complexity.

I’ve worked with Seismic as an LMS for hosting and managing training, and I’m exploring tools like Rise as I build more learning projects. I pick up new systems quickly and enjoy figuring out how to make tools work for the learner, not the other way around.

Right now, I’m building my instructional design portfolio and taking on projects that let me strengthen my skills, deepen my understanding, and keep creating learning that’s clear, usable, and genuinely helpful.
