Speaking for Understanding: A Clear Communication Mini-Course

Type: Microlearning with practice activities, knowledge check, and job aid.

Tools: Articulate Rise 360, Canva

Context: Unclear speech in everyday conversations can lead to misunderstandings and repeated questions. This microlearning addresses common clarity issues such as fast speech, monotone delivery, and mumbling with practical, immediately usable strategies.

Audience: Adult learners who want to communicate more clearly in everyday conversations and meetings.

My Role: Sole designer and developer of the microlearning end-to-end, including objectives, content structure, practice activities, assessment with feedback, and job aid.

Solution: A short, learner-centered course focused on three micro-skills: pace, emphasis, and articulation. Content is chunked and paired with brief practice activities, fast fixes, a scenario-based knowledge check, reflection, and a take-home job aid.

Impact: Supports clearer communication by helping learners recognize and adjust common speaking habits that affect understanding.

Reflection: This project strengthened my ability to design practical microlearning and balance reflection and assessment within Articulate Rise.
